What are Spanner Crabs?

The Queensland Spanner Crab (Ranina ranina) inhabits the sandy coastal regions between Gladstone QLD and Ballina NSW at depths between 20- 100 metres. It is also found albeit in much smaller volumes and size range in Hawaii where it is known locally as Kona crab and The Phillipines where it is known as Curacha.
